Jens Jakob Happ 

was born in Frankfurt on the Main. He studied architecture at the technical universities of Berlin and Darmstadt, as well as the art of Trompe L'Oeil painting in Brussels. He lived in New York in 1984 and 1990, working at the offices of Robert A.M. Stern and Richard Meier. He worked as a partner at the office AS&P, Albert Speer und Partner in Frankfurt from 1990 to 2005. The registered architect and urban designer is founder and head of happarchitecture.

Jens Jakob Happ is a member of the Association of German Architects (BDA), the German Association of Craftsmen (Deutscher Werkbund) and the representative assembly of the Hesse State Chamber of Architects and Urban Planners (AKH). Between 2007 to 2017, he was part of the urban development advisory council of Frankfurt; most recently as head of council. In 2018 he was elected to the board of the urban future forum e.V. foundation and appointed to the scientific advisory board of the German Institute of Urban Design (Deutsches Institut für Stadtbaukunst).
